Marriage to Your Rapist


Days like these, I am happy to live in Jamaica even with the entire crime situation and financial crisis we experience each day. In a recent article by Yahoo News, a sixteen year old committed suicide after being forced to marry her rapist. This rapist would in turn not be prosecuted for the crime. Knowing that if I lived in Morocco my family could force me to marry the man that has taken everything I hold dear to me.

So today I am thankful that Jamaica land we love doesn’t have that law in its legislation!!!
