Today, Thursday 13 of September 2012 in The Gleaner, I saw a story where the Red Cross of Jamaica is looking First Aid Volunteers. This was a surprise to me as I have contacted them on numerous of occassions and all I got was we will contact you.   Numerous of time means, calling them and they asked me to fill out a form and return it which I did, emailing them and calling them. This has been going on since 2010. So it is to my dismay and curiosity to wonder how many other persons out there are having the same experience.   Should we as individual be hunting down and riding the backs of these voluntary organizations so that we can give up our time and skills to them. I leave this with you today to consider………

The bible says by the sweat of me brow in Genesis 3:19 (By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return", in New International Version (1984)). But with the recent announcement The Jamaica Flours Mills of an increase in the price of flour between 10 to 14 percent. This will in turn in cause an increase in the price of bread.   Based on the current income level of many Jamaican, this will only put more pressure on the household income. So I say, yet I sweat but will I be able to eat bread.........

Today, 11 of September 2012 and another year have passed since the horrific incident of 9/11. A moment in time that is fresh in our minds. With the Kingston Bridal Week going on Sept 08-16 th ,it   has got me asking the question," Will I ever get married?" and I don't think I'm the only one asking the question. I can remember growing up and planning out every detail of that fairytale wedding. With the huge flowing princess ball gown dress and don't forget the tiara walking down the aisle where prince charming is awaiting my arrival. I could see flowers everywhere, in the roof, on the chairs, on the floor and in each and every corner. Just picturing in the church and seeing everyone staring at you in amazement as you walk slowly to the piano playing in the background. Planning out every detail (the veil, the shoes, bridesmaids dresses, the cake and etc), or maybe this was just me. During my teenage years I started collecting bridal magazines looking to find that  perfect dress for my wedding day. But now at age 27, I cannot recall when my obsession started to disappear.   I would feel so left ...
